Bumping this as my partner shares a similar issue. We tried the IRS "check refund website" and it states it can't find the information. Turbotax clearly states the tax file was filed on 3/15/21, but now 4 weeks later the IRS doesn't have any information. We tried calling [phone number removed] but "due to high volume, call cannot be completed". I feel like we are going in circles!

What's weird is that I filed mine on 3/14/21 and my partner and I have very similar tax returns yet mine was refunded within a week!

Does anyone have any solutions to our problem?

Everyone's tax return is unique. Most taxpayers receive their refund within 21 days, but sometimes it can take a bit longer to process or review your return.  Please the links below for reference.

What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

What do I need if I call the IRS?

Please see these links below for possible reasons for delays.

Some federal refunds are delayed due to the PATH Act

Why do some refunds take longer than others?

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS. There are a lot of delays for federal refunds this year. The IRS is working overtime to get stimulus payments sent out to you and process your tax returns. Per the IRS website IRS Operations During COVID-19: Mission-critical functions continue: Please visit here and see all services that have slowed down or been delayed due to Covid-19.

Once your tax return has been submitted, the most up to date information will come from the IRS. The IRS releases most refunds within 21 calendar days after the e-filed return has been accepted (received), not 21 days from the e-filing date.

To check on a regular tax refund status via automated phone, call 800-829-1954. (This line has no information on Economic Impact Payments.)The only other way to know when your refund will be released is to use the IRS Where's My Refund tool. Until the IRS starts processing it on their own, you may not find record of it or the website may say that you have put in incorrect information when tracking your federal refund. As your return moves through the system, the status of it will be updated accordingly. Please see here  for more information on checking the status of an e-filed return.
