I failed to log a 1099 Misc on my return. However I did include the amount when I reported gross receipts on my schedule C. Should I file an amended return?

Although you have reported the income from the Form 1099-misc, you need to file an amended return and file this form. The IRS will get a copy of your 1099-misc and you may owe a penalty for not reporting it. Please view the TurboTax link below for more information.

You should not file your amended return until your original return has been processed to avoid processing delays. You must also wait until Form 1040X is available in TurboTax. The anticipated date it will be available is March 7th. Please view the TurboTax FAQ below for instructions on preparing your amended return. You will be required to mail the return to the IRS as e-file is not available for amended returns.
