How to delete an X in Schedule 2, line 8 that I inputted by mistake?

I filled an X in line 8 on schedule 2 by mistake, which pulled additional taxes that don't apply.  How can I delete the X?  I tried to override it but it doesn't work. I can override the tax amount but not the X, so it keeps this additional tax in the calculation.

Delete the Form 1099-R that you entered.  That should remove all entries on the Schedule 2 in regards to line 8.

Re-enter the form 1099-R manually.
