How to amend federal return 2019 and one state only? The desktop turbotax amend 2019 doesn't allow me to continue and keeps saying error:190.

I only need to amend federal and one state. This super annoying tool doesn't allow me to continue after I selected the tax file which I downloaded from the site. It kept telling me I need to get state returns as well, so I continued to select the one state I need to amend the return for - and then it just leads me back to the start where I need to choose/add the test file!

Sorry but if the .tax2019 file has more than one state attached to it so you must download all the states in the return to be able to open the tax file.   Only then can you amend the one state return.

You might have to call in and ask for the extra state program downloads if you need more than 1 state.
