How long does it take before you know if you were approved for the Refund Advance? The IRS accepted my federal return on 1/17/25?

Which would make sense.  I have seriously been sitting here for several days thinking something is very wrong and honestly felt like TT didn't file my return as I had selected or there was an error on TT ends and my refund advance was never submitted to CK. I have yet to locate the document that shows the method I chose to receive my refund. I have looked in the location was told its at and there is no such document stating my method of refund. I can't locate any of the information I have to E-sign before I transmitted my return

Which makes me also believe that is why some people weren't seeing or given the option to file with the Refund advance.  TT knew there was an issue and removed the option until it was resolved. Just my thoughts and opinion.

Kind of the same situation as well. I can’t see any of the documents I signed either but I can for 2023 which makes me think too there is something really wrong. I haven’t received one email/notification about me applying for the refund advance. Makes me so nervous I need that refund advance to hire a lawyer and it’s just my luck this happened this year. Last year I had no issues my first time. even the TurboTax lady apologized and said she was sorry and said she knows it’s always something with turbo every year

Hello thank you for your response after the comment above you I did go and check my spam folder. I did receive an email from TurboTax on January 24th saying that my refund advance loan was not approved. That is because I accidentally applied for the major majority of my tax refund to be sent early. Not the refund advance that only gives you a small portion if you are approved. So I didn’t file when I realize that I applied for the wrong advance, I deleted and cleared my return on Friday January 24th, which involved me starting over completely. I waited until Sunday January 26th to start my filing process. After I uploaded all of my forms I got to the end and chose the refund advance which was the first option (up too 4,000) I signed the consent forms to release over information for the banks approval. it said that once the IRS accepted my return, I would get an email notifying me if I was approved for the refund advance once the irs accepted my return. I have not received any email about approval or denial anbout the advance and my return was accepted on January 27 at 10:34 AM.

Download your return and on then 1040 page it shows where your return is being deposited.

I would love to know too. I got my advance last year within a few hours of my taxes being accepted. This year they were accepted yesterday around 3:15pm and still no sign of my advance. So I don't know what is going on. But I'm worried because as a widowed single mom of 3, I desperately need that advance.

I was just informed from a TT representative that if you did not receive an email saying specifically "congratulations on your refund advance" then most likely it has not been approved. They are using a different bank this year and TT claims that even though we are getting the "congrats" on turbo tax, its only a PRE_APPROVAL 😫 and once its submitted to the bank the bank is denying it.  TT is gonna have a LOT of upset people this year

I did download my return it shows that it’s going to my credit karma account. I called turbo tax back after I left my last comment. I am now being told that I never applied for the refund advance, but I applied for the loan and was denied. Also asked me how did I file twice and apply for both. I explained how the first time on the 24th was a mistake and I never submitted my return. I cleared it and did  the 26th that’s how I applied for the refund advance. He basically told me that I’m not getting an advance because I was denied then said wait till the 29th because that’s when the irs views the advances. I called bs because I know people have already received their loan while some haven’t… I also told him that I haven’t received an email stating I was approved or denied I just keep getting the run around!! And I’m so frustrated I’m never using turbo tax ever again!!

Yup pretty much the same story I got as well.  TT rep said that when we got the "congrats your approved" msg when we filed and selected refund advance, it didn't mean we were approved because it is just a "pre-approval".  The bank that approves the advance can turn around and deny it.  I call BS too because that was not the case last year and it doesn't say that anywhere to my knowledge in the fine print.  So idk at this point.  Something's up and I don't like any part of it.  We deserve some sort of clarity and better communication from TT.  This is officially my last year using them as well.

Yes I believe someone kind of error happened and they messed up a lot of peoples advances. Had I known they switched banks I wouldn’t have used TurboTax this year. I said last year I wasn’t going to use them and I did because I needed a lawyer. The tt rep refused to send me to a supervisor and I then demanded that she sent me to one. The guy answered the phone and said, hello I said am I speaking to a supervisor he said yes. But gave me the same information. But just yesterday they could see I applied and was complete. Today was I didn’t apply, then said where the amount would show the advance loan is zero. But like I told him the bank that approves the loans is a different bank than the one that approves the advance. I’m trying to be patient but because I haven’t received the denied email for the advance. I’m just hoping and praying that maybe, just maybe I might still have a chance. I hope we all do I have a claim with the DHR here in New York (Divison of Human Rights from two years ago when my employer fired me while I was on medical leave, and then refused to hire me once my doctor releases me! I have a good case but I need a lawyer because I don’t know how to represent myself and I have a better chance at winning an “higher compensation” than I do by myself!

OK so I wanted to update everyone since I started a thread here. so when I originally accidentally applied for the advance loan, I did receive an email on the 24th even though I didn’t file. it was sent to my spam folder. I did not notice it prior to today because it was from the bank themselves, not from TurboTax. The email looked very sketchy honestly, and it had a link that wanted me to verify who I was, and asked for my last four of my social, so I didn’t want to click on it. Well after further research, I then found out the name of the bank that TurboTax is now using. so I went back and opened the email, and I clicked on the link and I entered the last four digits of my social and even though I didn’t file the 24th, I was denied the loan because the bank said the US treasury department said that my tax return was going to be reduced or possibly taking for a debt that I owed. Unknown to me. I have never owed a debt so someone told me to call the IRS offset number and it would tell me if I had a debt and which I did. Which it still confuses me because I still had the option of applying for the refund advanced when I filed my taxes on the 26th anyways I figured it out and just wanted to say thanks for all the comments try again next year

Same here. My return was accepted almost 48 hours ago. The representative for TT told me 2 days ago that it would be 24-48 hours to receive the email and 15 minutes after that I would receive the advance! Well I signed all the pre-approval papers and they DEFINITELY ARE NOT IN MY ACCOUNT NOW! Also, I opened the account with CK only to recover this monies. I do not know what kind of scam they are on but if I look at my Order Details it states accepted and Payment Pending, Refund transfer with the date the IRS accepted the return, not the day I submitted. Can someone please assist with maybe something that would help us all know a status?
