How do I, or can I efile an amended return here if I efiled with another online tax preparer?

I efiled my original return in Feb with another online tax preparer, they dont offer efiling for amended returns yet. Turbotax is not providing me a link to efile an amended return because they think I havent filed because I didnt efile with them. Can I get directly to a link to efile?

Can I get directly to a link to efile?  No.

To file an amended tax return using TurboTax you would have to exactly recreate the federal tax return that was filed.  Then in the File section of the program you select the option to print the tax return, NOT e-file.

After the federal return was completed, then you can amend the tax return.

No.  What I was referring to is that you cannot select e-file for the original tax return.

After the original tax return has been completed, then you can complete the amended tax return.  The amended return can be either printed and mailed or it can be e-filed.

Also, are you referring to the website, as far as the filing method, or are you referring to the software that can be purchased? If I purchase the software, can I go straight to efling a 1040-x?

Where things stand right now is that I have a rejected return from TurboTax, but it's rejected because I already efiled way back in Feb. But, because there's no way to go straight to an amended return, which is what I need, I redid my tax return, just as a starting point, hoping to be able to amend it later.

Can you tell me if I can amend (not fix) a rejected return?

Using the TurboTax online tax return, change from e-filing to mailing the tax return in the File section.  After you complete all 3 Steps in the File section you are done with the tax return.   Just do not mail the tax return.

Now you can amend the tax return since the program knows you completed the tax return and assumes that you have mailed the return.

On the Tax Home web page -

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Amend (change) return

That doesnt work because, in order to efile an amended return, the original return had to have been efiled as well.

If I buy the Turbo Tax software, will I be able to directly efile from there?
