You can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
If you want to view/print/download your complete tax return to include all forms, schedules and worksheets you will have to pay the TurboTax account fees.
To pay the TurboTax online account fees by credit card, without completing the 2023 return at this time, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. On the next page, to pay by credit card, click Pay Now. The next screen will show a review of your Fees, click on View payment options. Complete the credit card section and click on Review your order.
In addition to the information shared by DoninGA for using TurboTax Online, if you are using a Windows CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, click Forms in the upper right corner of the screen to see the actual tax forms and worksheets used in your return.
If you are using a Mac CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, click Forms on the top row toward the left side of the screen.
That all sounds great but none of those options are actually available on my Mac version!! Extremely frustrating that all the help references tools and options that do not exist!!!
Are you using the Mac Desktop program? I helped my friend do hers on Mac. There is a Forms. Can't remember if there is a Forms button but you can find it on the top Apple bar. Move your cursor up to the very top so the Apple bar opens. I took pictures of her screen but they are too big to attach. I'll have to figure out if I can reduce them.
See if this posts....
Then to print I went to the File tab and Print Active Form.
I see how I can view the form, but I need to make an edit. I have SS income that is not taxable and the form states to put the income in line 6a and "0" in line 6b. Turbo Tax doesn't do that for me, so I need to make that edit. How can I edit the 1040 by hand?
No you need to enter Social Security in the step interview method. You don’t know it isn’t taxable. Ket Turbo Tax figure it out. Why can’t you enter it in the Social Security spot?
Enter a SSA-1099, SSA-1099-SM or RRB-1099 under
Federal Taxes on the left side or top
Wages and Income
Then scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
Then the second line - Social Security (SSA-1099. RRB-1099) - click the Start or Revisit button
Up to 85% of Social Security becomes taxable when all your other income plus 1/2 your social security, reaches:
Married Filing Jointly: $32,000
Single or head of household: $25,000
Married Filing Separately: 0
To see the Social Security Benefits Calculation Worksheet in Turbo Tax Online version you would have to save your return with all the worksheets to your computer. Or if you are using the Desktop CD/Download Software you can switch to Forms Mode (click Forms in the upper right) and click on SS in the list on the left side.
I know it's not taxable because of the amount and the information the IRS sent.
Is Turbo Tax showing some of it taxable on 1040 line 6b? You should not override any Turbo Tax amounts. That will void the guarantee and prevent you from Efiling.
If you're using TurboTax Online, you can't make manual edits to the 1040. If you're using TurboTax Desktop, you can switch to Forms mode. Note that overriding the forms does void the accuracy guarantee.
Is the issue that TurboTax is leaving that amount blank where you believe there should be a 0, or is the issue that TurboTax is calculating a taxable amount?
If the issue is that TurboTax is calculating a taxable amount, we can take a look at the return to view the calculation. The return will be scrubbed and won't include any of your personal details.
If you're using TurboTax Online:
Once you're logged in to your account,
- on the left hand panel, click on Tax Tools and then choose Tools
- on the pop up window, select Share my file with Agent
- you'll see a message saying you'll give us a copy of your tax return. Your personal information will be changed so we can't see any private information.
- click okay and you'll get another message with a token
If you're using TurboTax Desktop:
Please reply to this message with your token so that we can further assist you. Let us know all other states that are included on the return.
