The Tax Summary page will be included in the 2021 PDF download if you download the PDF now.
To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Start the 2022 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.
On the Tax Home webpage -
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
Thanks so much for the fast reply! It turns out I had done those steps exactly. Unfortunately the the PDF download for 2021 does not contain the same Tax Summary or Two Year Comparison pages as are containes in my 2020 filing PDF. I use Turbotax online only, no desktop software, and each year I elect the same tax prep service level. Maybe thes summary "features" were discontinued or somehow I did not elect to have them included (no memory of that). No worries, I will extrapolate my 2021 data and make my own chart(s).
I just downloaded my 2021 tax return PDF file, an it contains both the summary, and both the 5 year and 2 year histories....but they are really buried in the mess of pages.
1) You must use a newly downloaded PDF...don't use a PDF you downloaded at the time you filed.
2) If you did a clear-and-start-over for 2021 files, then the 2 and 5 year history won't be in there if you didn't re-transfer the 2020 file into 2021.
3) Of course, it must be the exact same account you used in the prior years too.
4) It will also depend on how many forms and schedules are in your tax return (and I don't have a Schedule C), but my:
....4a) 5 year history was within the first 12 pages....and is simply labelled "Tax History Report"
....4b) the "Two-Year Comparison" was waaaay down towards the end of the Federal part of the PDF, and several pages above the "Postmark Report: Electronic Postmark" sheet, and right next to the "Tax Summary"
Super helpful answer, thank you kindly.
I've used TurboTax online since 2013 and can see each of those prior years using the same login, under "Your tax returns & documents." And I am indeed referencing a current-day download of a prior year's completed return.
So odd! I'll keep looking.
