Emailing a copy of a tax return is not a secure way to send the return to someone.  Either mail the tax return using the US Post Office or give a copy of the return in person.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.  See screenshot

This will take you back to the 2018 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets

It is not safe or secure to email your tax return to anyone.  Who needs it?  Can you give them a printout?  You would have to download a pdf file then attach the pdf to an email.

@Rommie Did you not read this thread before you posted to it?  You cannot email your tax return from within TurboTax.  It is unsafe to email a tax return.  If you want to send it somewhere print it out and mail it in an envelope--preferably using certified mail or some other service so you can track it and know it got there.

How do I sent a copy of my return to my financial advisor. Completed on a computer away from home that didn't  have a printer.

If you used TT Online, you can log into TT anywhere that has a printer, and print it there. Just be careful if in a public place. Also see:

@kgdubbenzs Fax what?   You cannot fax your tax return to the IRS if that is what you are asking.   The only way to file your 2020 or earlier year tax return now is by mail.   Print it, sign it in ink and mail it.  Use a mailing service that will track it so you will know it was received.  Federal and state returns go to different addresses.  Attach any W-2 's or 1099's that show tax withheld.

Since you added to a very old thread, it is unclear what you are trying to do.   If you are trying to provide a copy of your tax return to someone else like a lender perhaps, then you need your own printed copy of the return and you can use a fax machine to fax it if you want to.   You cannot fax from within the TT program.
