HELLO!?

You can go to this link Topic No. 203 Reduced Refund there is a phone number you can call to see if there was a refund offset.

If this is putting you into financial hardship, please see this link:Taxpayer Advocate Service

HELLO!?

Where in any of what I said did I say anything in regards to a stimulus check?  Who cares about a stimulus check...... I'm talking about my federal refund, I'm talking about my offset refund that one side says no I won't get a refund and the other that says yes, I will get a refund. Why is it that other programs that charge less can tell you upfront that you will have money withheld due to a possible offset before you file and Turbo Tax can't even after charging $200 **bleep**ing dollars?? Oh but wait, I should check myself cause I just gained another stupid **bleep**ing badge, thank god for the badg . Are you kidding me

HELLO!?

TurboTax does not do that because it would be illegal.  You might regard the program looking up offsets to your refund as a convenience but there are several federal crime-fighting agencies that would disagree with you.  No software company can use your personal information such as your Social Security number to go online and search for offsets.

If you are talking about a Tax agency withholding a refund to pay prior taxes owed, the program can only tell you what you owed in a prior year by directing you to your prior year return.  You would indeed have to know whether you already paid it or not.

HELLO!?

And your profession is? I disagree on the part that it would be illegal.  I've worked with a couple different accountants who were able to find that info ahead of filing that saved me money. When I did my taxes in 2015, before finishing with my taxes I was informed that there was a debt having to be paid and was given options  to pay full amount or setup a payment plan. Exactly how would it be illegal getting information upfront in regards to a possible offset that would consume your refund?  Or are you saying the IRS doesnt want you to be aware so that way they can just take your money regardless if there's a legitimate debt or not and once done you're just SOL and goodluck trying to retrieve that money?

HELLO!?

I am an Enrolled Agent.  An individual doing a return for you can do many things.  TurboTax is a software program designed to help you prepare your own tax return and has very different limitations.

HELLO!?

Then what is the that turbotax sells to us saying real experts to overlook your info for filing? So, my documents were not looked at before I hit finish and file my 2019 taxes? I WANT MY GOD **bleep** MONEY BACK. I couldve done all this for free to just **bleep** myself...... on my own.

HELLO!?

The company does indeed offer that service but since TurboTax files over 30 million returns a year, obviously all returns are not automatically reviewed unless the user chooses that service.  You'd have to call Customer Service to request a refund but it really does not sound like you have any basis, because you have no complaints about the accuracy of your return, you are just complaining about the lack of a service that no software company offers.
