I received an IRS Notice CP80 indicating I had a credit on my account, but that I had not filed my return for 2020. I called IRS and was told my return for 2020 had not been processed, but that the check I used to pay my 2020 taxes had been received and cashed. The IRS person I talked with checked and said there were no problems my return, just that it had not been processed. I told the IRS person I was E-filing this year for a refund. The person told me do NOT enter an AGI figure on the return because IRS would not be able to reconcile it with the 2020 return. My 2021 return was rejected because the AGI for my wife, who is deceased, was missing. How do we fix this?

sorry for your loss. apparently, you filed jointly for 2020 so use $0 for both AGI's
last tax year there were some posts that nothing worked if a spouse died that year. continued rejection may mean that the Social Security Adm informed the IRS about her death and they did something with its database that prevents e-filing.
you can try calling the IRS again but you may only be able to mail in your return.
As Champ Mike9241 suggests, you may need to file on paper this year.
Since your 2020 return hasn’t been processed, you’ll need to tell the TurboTax program you didn’t file last year when asked. If you’ve already entered a number for your AGI and been rejected, manually enter 0 instead.
If you confirm that the zero AGI won’t be accepted, your only option would be to print and mail your return.
Please see the TurboTax Help articles How do I print and mail my return in TurboTax Online? or How do I print and mail a return in the TurboTax for Windows CD/Download software?, as appropriate, for the instructions on filing your return by mail.
