Does taxes go out on the exact date stated ?

stated by whom? Turbotax! - no way because it uses a standard period of 3 weeks. The IRS website - still doesn't mean you'll get it that day especially if fees are to be taken out and then some banks play with your money by taking 5 days or so to process the deposit.

No...as already stated....the date was just a verrrrrrrrry CRUDE estimate.....the "refund" occasionally can come earlier...or even 1-2- 3-4 weeks later.

The IRS may even randomly pull your file for a closer examination, and ask more questions in a letter sent to you.  That can delay it further.

@jaylynne08 The date you got from TurboTax is nothing but a guess.   You have to use the IRS refund site to track your refund.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901548-why-do-some-refunds-take-longer-than-others

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.
