@rwpdwoods If your return was rejected then no information was transmitted to the IRS. How are you being double charged? For what?
And what did you do to file the return? Did you fix it and re-file? Or print and mail it?
You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.
Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed. Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead. What is the rejection code or rejection message?
If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2020 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2020 AGI might not be in the IRS system. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

Just called and talked with a nice lady at tech support trying to refund the $25 used for a rejected eFile.
She tried but Intuit system could not find the transaction based on the ID that showed in an email to me.
I ordered my bank to cancel the credit payment.
To Intuit: TurboTax advice for rejection reason was "wrong AGI" but the AGI was correct - actually copied from previous year.
I paid $48.62 for the TurboTax Desktop 2021 download after purchasing Turbo Tax Deluxe at Costco. I never had to pay for the state tax download in the past after using Turbo Tax for about 20 years. I also had to pay $25 to e-file the state tax and it was rejected after several tries to fix the issue. I had to mail the state tax return.
I would like a refund of both the state download and the state e-file.

My Illinois return was rejected two times and the AGI was correct. It was April 15 so I went to the post office and mailed it to meet the deadline. Please refund the $25 I was charged for the electronic filing fee I was charged but did not use.
