COVID Stimulus Payment:(Please allow people who used Turbocard to change our Payment method to avoid having our stimulus payments delayed by having to receive it by mailed check

I got the so called “test” notification via the turbo app.  I filed on my own and opted to deduct the fees out of my return. I’ve already received my return as of feb 25th. Really hoping I am gonna get my stimulus via the card as well. Notification was brief and now can’t get it back and when I call there’s no pending deposit. Guess we will have to wait and see 😩

@JohnB5677  so we will get it on the Turbo tax card?  Best answer so far tho

COVID Stimulus Payment:(Please allow people who used Turbocard to change our Payment method to avoid having our stimulus payments delayed by having to receive it by mailed check

@Jay2710 You are the very first person I've seen out of A LOT of reports that got the pending notification for their Turbo Card AND had fees taken from their refund.  For a lot of people's sake, including my own, I hope you get that deposit!  🙂

May I ask one clarification question... Was your Turbo Card issued to you when you filed this year or was it an existing Turbo Card that had been issued from a previous filing year?

NEW UPDATE!

The IRS is sending stimulus payments to eligible taxpayers who filed a tax return in either 2019 or 2018 and chose direct deposit, and is depositing some stimulus payments onto prepaid debit cards for filers that chose to receive their refund through that method.

For the majority of prepaid debit card holders there is nothing more to do as the stimulus payment will be deposited to their account. If your customer no longer has access to their debit card, we encourage them to visit https://turbodebitcard.intuit.com for assistance by logging in to their account, or using the Self Help available.

It was issued to me this year when I filed. @cclemons1998

@CatinaT1 appreciate the response... But that's still not a definitive answer of yes or no to put some people's mind at ease here... Especially when wording like "depositing SOME stimulus payments onto prepaid debit" and "MAJORITY of prepaid debit card holders".  😒

@Jay2710 Nice!  First real positive news for us Fee and Loan payers with the Turbo Card!

FINALLY a answer. Thank you. I think that means by "Some" as long as your account is open and matches up with the routing and account number on your taxes then it will be deposited. Obviously some people will have issues with wrong cards, closed accounts etc.

Do you have a timeline or is that still TBD?

The timeline is up to the US Treasury/IRS

https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments

To help everyone check on the status of their payments, the IRS is building a second new tool expected to be available for use by April 17. Get My Payment will provide people with the status of their payment, including the date their payment is scheduled to be deposited into their bank account or mailed to them.

An additional feature on Get My Payment will allow eligible people a chance to provide their bank account information so they can receive their payment more quickly rather than waiting for a paper check. This feature will be unavailable if the Economic Impact Payment has already been scheduled for delivery.
