Can i ammend my form so that my parents can claim me as a dependent

Was your return Accepted?   Your parents will have to mail their return this year.  They don't have to wait for you to amend.  You will have to amend your return to say you can be claimed on someone else's return. It will take 8-12 weeks to process an amended return if not longer. In the meantime you will probably each get a letter from the IRS to determine who is able to claim the exemption.

Your parents can claim you as a dependent on their tax returns before you start amending your tax return.  But they will have to print and mail their returns, they cannot be e-filed since yours has already been accepted by the IRS.

If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 16 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

Looks like both those links are to amend a prior  year.  How to Amend the current year

I'm trying to amend the return but can't find the section where I can select that I can be claimed as a dependent.

Can you please instruct me on how to get to that step please?

You have to check the box that says you can be claimed. See this article

1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax, if you haven’t already.
2. Select My Info from the side menu.
3. Select Edit next to your name.
4. On Your personal info, scroll down and answer Yes to Someone else can claim me as a dependent.
