If your e-filed return is pending, you will not be able to make any changes until it is accepted or rejected by the IRS. After that, you can amend your return. Please see How to amend (change or correct) a return you've already filed for more information.
My return is not pending - it's Accepted. I selected Amend but was not able to locate where to adjust Line 30, for the Recovery Rebate Credit. I am still owed an amount not received.
Once you are in your return, click on Federal on the left hand side, then Federal Review at the top. You will see the screen below where you can enter the information and have the refund reported on your amended return. @klinlin
People who are missing a stimulus payment or got less than the full amount may be eligible to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 federal tax return.
Letter 6475 is telling you what the IRS sent you. If you add it to line 30 the IRS will just take it off. Didn't it ask you what you received on the original return? Do you have an amount on line 30? If it didn't ask you then maybe your AGI is too high.
Double check your bank statements and Check your IRS account (both accounts if married)

If the IRS thinks they sent it to you but you didn't get it request a trace for a missing third Stimulus payment
I marked it as no because I did not get this Lever 6475 until well after I had already filed my return. Right now there's nothing in Line 30 on my 1040 - I checked the government tracker and noted that I did receive the $1200 + $600 but the additional 3rd payment never showed up in my account. I was under the impression that you put a number in Line 30 for unreceived amounts
I do not see the Federal Review, nor do I see Federal on the left side menu - I am trying to answer that same question, but from the Amend option.
So on your original return is line 30 empty? If you said No you didn't get it then line 30 should have 1,400 on it. Yes you are right, Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more.
Yes, my original Line 30 is empty, and I am trying to amend my tax return to add in the amount that was on my Letter 6475 - I confirmed via going through my bank records that I did not get this amount.
If you didn't get it but got IRS letter 6475 saying they sent it to you then......
If the IRS thinks they sent it to you but you didn't get it request a trace for a missing third Stimulus payment
Based on your link, I should have included this as part of my tax return
"If you didn't receive, or get the full amount of, the third-round Economic Impact Payment, you may be eligible to claim the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit and must file a 2021 tax return – even if you don't usually file taxes – to claim it. Your 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit will reduce any tax you owe for 2021 or be included in your tax refund."
Giving an update on this since I haven't gotten an official response - I'm sure it's possible to file a 1040X separately, but I figure it would be easy to do in TurboTax considering how much I paid for it. I tried calling the IRS today, was on hold for two hours before getting told that due to high volume please try calling back again another day. Absolutely ludicrous.
