Balance Due

Hi, to whom it may concern.

I was notified through my email that I was going to be charged before or the day of 04/10/20. It said to my bank account number ending in 7822. Which is not the ending 4 digits of my card number. So I am confused and concerned as to why it says that. Is there a way I can fix the issue? Please get back to me when you can. Thank you for your time.

If you were expecting a refund and have not received it yet you would have received this notice about your outstanding TurboTax fee(s). The last 4 digits are not what would appear on your actual card but would be the account number that you entered with your routing number for your refund deposit.

Please see this TurboTax FAQ for more information regarding your TurboTax fee that may be due before you receive your refund:

Can this balance be postponed since the refund has not been received yet?

The extension to pay the taxes owed is automatic if you have 2019 federal taxes owed.  The taxes owed do not have to be paid until July 15, 2020

However, you still must file your 2019 tax return on or before April 15, 2020 to avoid the failure to file penalties.

When filing your 2019 tax return select the option to pay the 2019 tax with a check.  Then continue and e-file your tax return.

Then on or before July 15, 2020 go to the IRS payment website and use Direct Pay to the pay the taxes owed - https://www.irs.gov/payments

I received the same message, why should I have to pay the Fee until I get my Refund since you guys screwed up.  You guys missed Form 8962 Premium Tax Credit (PTC) Because of this they are holding my refund.  They send me a letter that I have to fill out the form and send it back, which I did.  Now I have to wait an see if I'm getting a refund or not.  But since this Covid-19 going around who knows when they will get to it.

When you signed up for the refund processing services, this was part of the agreements.

Balance Due

I have the exact problem.  A month after electronically filing, I received a letter from the IRS saying I needed to send a completed Form 8962 for the Premium Tax Credit before they could proceed.  I did that over a week ago, but the letter also said it would be 6 to 8 weeks after they received the completed form until I get my refund.

Now today I get the e-mail from TurboTax telling me my account will be charged $80 on April 24 since they did not get to take it from my refund.  My question:  Will I be charged twice?  If I don't get my refund before April 24, and you debit my account the $80, will I also have it taken out of my refund after that when it's finally issued?  The 6 to 8 weeks the IRS said it would take will put us into mid-May at least.

If you get debited for your Turbo Tax fees prior to receiving your refund, you will not have those fees taken from your refund. You will only be charged once for your fees.

It will usually take about 21 days from the date of acceptance, not the date you first filed your federal return.

You can track your refund through Where's My Refund.

Please refer to the information below.

What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

I filed with TurboTax on 13/Feb/2020 because you guys forgot to ask about form 8962 they put my taxes on hold.  I filled out the Form and sent it back about two week ago.  Still have not heard when or even if I'm getting a refund.  So if I do not get paid you do not get paid.  I am filing a complaint with the IRS and the BBB about the mishap.

The IRS says to allow 4-8 weeks to process a return after receiving the 1095-A and Form 8962. Continue to monitor your refund on the IRS Where’s My Federal Refund? site for updates. Updates are made daily, usually overnight. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status.

TurboTax does ask if you have Form 1095-A under the Deductions & Credits tab on the line Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A) "LeonardS Employee Tax Expert"

The IRS is requesting Form 8962 for 2019
