Did you have a question about the ITIN?

As you can see from the comments above, in the current situation, any manual processing (like issuing ITINs) will be slow. Only the IRS can tell you about any progress - if you can get them on the phone.

I know this issue might have already been resolved by now. But this link appears first when I google about ITIN delays. Anyhow this info is to help people waiting to hear on their new ITIN. First of all to get ITIN status please do not call the 1040 phone number. It is not correct. For ITIN inquiries, please call [phone number removed] (U.S. only) or for international, call [phone number removed]. I had to wait 30 minutes on hold but finally got an answer

No I also have not received ITIN neither the federal tax got processed. No luck.

My Federal tax has not been processed by IRIS. I have sent the papers by mail with the ITIN paper work. Do i need to file for the extension?

Your tax return will be considered filed as of the date of the postmark for the mailing. It is not necessary to file an extension, but an extension also cannot hurt anything!
