No one is responding and no one's suggestions have worked for me so far! I've tried everything
Okay, so guys! Steps are really easy!
unlink your credit karma account from turbo tax. So you’ll go to credit karma. Go to right hand side for settings, then go to profile and settings. Go to bottom unlink accounts. After that check your email with credit karma make sure it matches your turbo tax email. Lower case and upper case matters! So make sure it matches exactly!!! It has too!! Clear your browsing cookies & cache. If emails aren’t the same between turbo & credit karma update it to where it is! Example - credit karma email is [email address removed] & turbo is [email address removed] update credit karma to be [email address removed] .. capital letters will effect it. After that is said and done sign out of everything close out of browser… make sure you cleared browsing cookies & cache data. Go to credit karma sign back in.. and click tax and file! Get signed into turbo. Start from the beginning (don’t delete and restart) but don’t jump directly too file. Start from personal info, and just go through the steps.. all the way until you get to file. Once you get to file it’ll have you confirm refund options which will be advance if you’re doing the advance; and then after that you’ll go to the third part where you confirm all your stuff and type in your state ID or drivers license.. the first time around it’ll trigger the error “something changed in your return” and click continue it’lll bring you back to the file option where you click advance as the refund option.. and just do it again. It may make you do it 2-3 times it sucks the loop of it all but I finally got it on the 3rd try after completing the steps above!!! Good luck!!! Don’t give up. Just make sure emails Match 100% , unlink credit karma account from turbo account, clear cache & cookies, sign out of turbo & credit karma, and close out browser completely.. go back in, and go to credit karma, click tax & file.. and just go through the process. Good luck!
I disagree my emails are the same but on my turbo tax the first letter is capitalized and the email on my credit karma are all lowercase. They are generally the same. But caps didn't matter in my case. All the signing in and out. I was told it had to be done through the creditkarma page as well. Well it went through on the mobile app at 10:04 central time 01/28/2022. So all that today DID NOT help. All I did was continue to go through the loop in which I did been doing it all day, and eventually it went through. Been doing this since yesterday around this time til now so I'd say 24 hrs it might have refreshed for me or the bug was fixed.
Yeah, my turbo tax kept showing as a capital letter, but it was registered as a lower case. Once I went to sign back in (after changing my email to all lower case letters) it sent a code to my email to verify it. So it definitely did something and helped because before I did those steps, I was in a constant loop of that error message I try 8-10 times. I even signed out and signed it still the same thing. Soo it definitely helped! Because once I did all those steps I signed in, and it triggered that error twice and then on the 3rd try I was able to transmit my return. So it definitely helps & does something especially when multiple people are having success stories after giving it a try.
Found this photo on to show the exact message it showed me on my intuit account. If you have tried all other methods listed.https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/image/serverpage/image-id/71607i60EA545ED956031D?v=v2
I went through the loop for a week.
*Make sure your name, email, and address matches on turbo and credit karma.
*Log into intuit to see if your username needs to be updated. (It will show you a success message at top of page if updated)
Although you can sign in with your email. It would not allow me to set my email as my turbo user id. So I selected my user id to basically be my email without the @ example.com
Log out and back in. Hopefully it will work for your guys. Trust me I tried what feels like a million times.
Seems like the common denominator is the user id.
DIRECTIONS: LOGOUT OF TURBO. LOG INTO CREDIT KARMA THEN CLICK ON TAX. THEN CLICK ON START FILING.. IT IS GOING TO LOAD TURBOTAX AND SHOULD LET YOU EFILE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKED… !!!
This worked for me. I had to repeat the steps TWICE but it worked. I have already received my advance.
Good evening all,
First I would like to say sorry everyone is still going though this . Second keep your chin up it's been rough this year for us all. I was having the same issue as everyone in here I even called into the customer service line and have come to find out everything is a blanket statement because they really have no idea what is going on. I have followed and have commented in this thread alot just to try and help others, so with that said let me post the solution that I figured out due to someone elses post in here.
On Tuesday morning my wife woke me up saying her have you seen the thread since last night I looked her still waking up and was like no what happen where's a solution post by customer service ? She looked at me and was like no but some one suggested that you make sure that you are using the same email on both credit Karma and Turbo tax. I was like that makes no sense but what the hell I will give it a try. So I got up came grabbed my phone.
I cleared my cookies and cache and then I logged into Credit Karma looked at my email . I then logged out cleared my cookies and cache again. I then logged into the Turbo tax app went to my setting for my email and cleared my email and retyped it in the exact same way as it was in the Credit Karma account and then I saved it. I then logged out of Turbo tax and again cleared my cookies and cache. I then logged into the Turbo tax app again and went straight to review for my taxes. I continue into how I would like to pay for them and then moved onto the section for the advance I pushed the radio button and then took a deep breath. It stated you are pre approved for set amount. I then moved onto the file section it moved through the set sections all the way to the end like it should and then BAM it filed. We then sat there and waited on the email from Turbo tax and Credit Karma . About 30 mins later we got our advance.
I understand y'all this is frustrating and I am sorry but we will get through this together I promise you that. If anyone needs additional help let me know in the thread we will work through this I hope my steps help you have a good night.
