I have turbotax 2017 - I am returning to finish my taxes w/new forms. It only searches for 2016 and NOT 2017?

After a large update, I starting TT 2017.  I let it find the most current work file (should have been 2017).  But, the search was set to ".tax2016" - and did not find the file had had nearly finished (.tax2017) and was waiting for new fed forms.  

I closed TT and started it again.  It went to "Open File" option and it searched for ".tax2017" file.  WHEW!!  Looked it over and everything was the same and the fed file that I needed was updated.  I now can file.

I closed TT and when I started it this time, it brought up my normal "continue" with my 2017 file.
