Hi,
I recently filed my 2019 tax return online through TurboTax, but when i looked up the NYS Dept of tax and finance, it does not show any information for 2019.
I am not able to locate any contact information to get in touch with TurboTax. I have the following information
hanks for your payment
Order #
Order date: October 08, 2020
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Did you continue on and go all the way through the File tab, through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button? Was your federal Accepted?
When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. Accepted only means they accepted your return FOR Processing. Not that your return is right.
When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. what does it say?
I don't see any status, where is the the status icon? when i go to my account in turbo tax i see below info
After looking at this , i thought they have filed my tax electronically ?
Awwww, so it says Printed. Sorry but Printed or Ready to Mail means you have to actually print out your tax return and mail it to the IRS or state yourself. So if you didn't mail it then it has not been filed yet. And it will always say Ready to Mail. Turbo Tax doesn’t know if or when you mailed it and the IRS doesn’t update Turbo Tax when they get your mailed return.
So your Federal was not filed either. You need to print and mail both returns. Did you have a refund or tax due? If you had refunds didn't you wonder why you never got it?
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. Don’t forget state.
Important! Mail Federal and State in separate envelopes and mail each year in separate envelopes.
