Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Can't sign in so what do I do?

Request turbo to send new number. They call it right away but when I put it in (twice as requested) it always says on hold for varying time. That time never goes down. How can I sign in?

Try these steps to recover your User ID or password:

  1. Go to our account recovery page.
  2. Enter one of the following:
    • Phone number (recommended)
    • Email address
    • User ID
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once you’re done, we’ll either send you a code to help you recover your account, or show/send you a list of accounts associated with your info.

  • If you’re still unable to recover your account, select Try something else on the Account Recovery page. We’ll ask additional questions to verify your identity.

Keep in mind: Once you’re back in your account, make sure to include or update your phone number. Doing so helps increase account security and ease account recovery.

Can't sign in so what do I do?

I tried everything suggested by turbotax and still cannot get signed in to return to my account

Can't sign in so what do I do?

Was using Basic version but needed to upgrade.  Took me to the online login but wouldn't let me log in.  Successfully rest password  but still won't allow me to log in.  TurboTax then allowed me to enter Mortgage Interest anyway.

Got to form 1099B and once again found I needed to upgrade.  Same process and fail as above.

The online login page that TurboTax takes me to (to upgrade and finish my return) - will not let me proceed.  It shows an error message and provides a button link to try again.  Trying again just seems to refresh the page.

Here's the error info that's shown:

Hmm... it looks like we’ve hit a slight snag

Please try again or check back in a bit.

If you're getting an error even with a new sign-in name and password, you may want to try clearing your browser's cache and cookies.  You can also try using a different browser, altogether, to sign in.

I'm in the final stage of sending a tax return.  All the bank and state driver license entered and then Turbo requires sign in.  It does not work on reset of info.  Code sent via phone doesn't work.

You may want to try Account Recovery, where you can get help signing into your account.

You can also go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank.  Then choose the small blue link that says Try something else, and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.

See this TurboTax help.
