Your 5 digit signature ID on the Consent to Disclosure screen (also called a Self-Select PIN) is how you sign your federal return if you're e-filing. It's the electronic equivalent of manually signing a paper return. Here's additional information:
No. Your 5 digit signature ID on the Consent to Disclosure screen (also called a Self-Select PIN) is how you sign your federal return if you're e-filing. It's the electronic equivalent of manually signing a paper return.
If the field is blank, just enter any 5-digit number. Same goes for your spouse if you're filing jointly.
And if you see a prefilled 5-digit number in this field, you can either leave it alone or re-enter a number you like better. It really doesn't matter.

They are actually asking for a state abbreviation (FL, CA, NY, etc.). When you get this message, either a 1099-DIV or 1099-INT is reporting tax-exempt interest/dividends and the program wants to know what state you got them from. (This information is needed for state returns only).
You may not be able to "find this" and you probably don't need to.
The quick fix for this issue is to enter "XX" as the state ID in SmartCheck screen. "XX" stands for "More Than One State" in this screen. If you are still in the 1099-DIV (or 1099-INT) interview, you can select "More Than One State" from the state drop-down menu (last choice). If you have supplemental information with states and amounts, you can check the Box (I earned tax-exempt interest from more than one state), and you will be able to enter the individual state information). If you are unable to fix this in SmartCheck or the 1099-DIV (or 1099-INT) interview, you will have to delete the Form 1099-DIV (or 1099-INT) and re-enter it in the 1099-DIV (or 1099-INT) interview. If there was a "0" in Box 10 of 1099-DIV (or Box 8 of 1099-INT), leave the field blank and you won't need to enter a state abbreviation.

Solution
Best method to resolve:
Close the error window and try to re-install.
If re-installation doesn't work, then restart the machine and then try to re-install again.
If that didn't help, try the following steps:
If you are experiencing this issue while installing from a TurboTax CD, then click here to download and run our fix-it tool. If not, try the next solutions.
Windows: Try right-clicking the TurboTax icon and select Run as Administrator.
If that didn't help, follow these steps:
Log on to your computer with Administrator rights.
Temporarily disable your online backup or security software.
Install (or update) TurboTax.
Re-enable the backup or security software you disabled in Step 2.
However, if you continue to receive this error while installing TurboTax after following the instructions in the solution, there are other issues with your system that are causing this error. See Troubleshoot Installing and Running TurboTax for further troubleshooting steps.
If the problem is occurring while attempting to update through TurboTax, download and install a manual update instead.
If the above solutions don't resolve the error, please follow the link below to restart into Selective Startup to install the program.

Where do I enter Form 4562? Where do I enter Form 4562?
Where do I enter Form 4562?
IRS Form 4562 is used to calculate and claim deductions for depreciation and amortization.
When you enter depreciable assets – vehicles, buildings, farm equipment, intellectual property, etc. – we'll generate Form 4562 and apply the correct depreciation method.
There is no single place in TurboTax to enter depreciable assets. Instead, when you enter your business, rental, farm, or job-related expenses, we'll ask about related assets and apply the depreciation at that point.
