You Must Enter a Limit - You Must Not Enter a Limit

When I check for errors, I get told,

• "Tax and Interest Deduction Worksheet: Limit Int/points on 1098 should be blank." 

So I delete the content of that field. Then I get told:

• Tax and Interest Deduction Worksheet: Limited interest and points must be entered.

And it just goes around in circles. I found a post from 2020 which says to set "Does your mortgage interest need to be limited" to No.  But clicking on Yes or No does not change the checkbox. "Yes" stubbornly remains checked.

How do I escape from the circular error?
