What are the steps in TURBOTAX for the MD pension exclusion $31,100?
After you enter the 1099-R and simply follow the program interview screens to indicate this as being MD based.
For tax year 2021, the pension exclusion for totally disabled persons or their spouses when filing a joint return is $34,300.00. my spouse and I qualify for this exclusion but I can't find a place to enter that information, neither in the 1099R interview questions, not by entering the information on the worksheet I was able to find to make the calculations. I also tried by entering the amount of the exclusion right on the MD 502 form as instructed on the MD tax Publication, but it will not change any other figures, I supposed because the calculations must be made on the actual return. Please help!
