Can someone help? Turbotax Premier tax year 2017 hangs on splash screen. It says: "Thanks for your patience, we're almost there" and proceeds no further.

To resolve this issue if you are in TurboTax Online, clear your cookies and your cache on your computer, then close your browser and reopen. When you log back in to your TurboTax Online account you should not have any further issue with your return.

If you are using the CD version and are having issues after uninstalling, restarting your computer, and reinstalling the software, you can contact the seller of your CD to see if you can exchange it.  To contact TurboTax about this issue, please see the following TurboTax FAQ:

This is not a turbo tax online account.  This is the actual software installed on my computer.

I double click the program icon, and the splash screen comes up and hangs.  It says "thanks for your patience, we're almost there..."

Yeah...I looked at those...no help to my particular circumstance.

Did you uninstall the program, restart your computer, and then reinstall the program? Is it a CD or a download version?

I uninstalled, reinstalled and tried to start again.  It is a CD version

You may need to exchange your CD for a new version. I will include the contact information for TurboTax to the answer above, if you purchased it elsewhere you may be able to exchange it there.

I also have access to the download version with my purchase.  Do you think if I run it from that, it may make a difference?

It very well might make a difference.  Try the download version and see if that corrects your issues.

The file won't even open or run

Have you ran updates on your computer and browser?  If you have not, uninstall the program, then update your system, and reinstall.
