Are you being claimed as a dependent? Yes, you might get a larger refund, but if you qualify as a dependent, you can't just decide you aren't one anymore.

Certain states have credits for rent paid, but not all. It is not deductible at all on your Federal return.

RENT

There is not a rent deduction or credit on your Federal return.  If your state has anything for renters you will be prompted to enter your rent info when you complete your state return.  As far as I know, the states that have anything for rent are Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington DC, and Wisconsin.

I’m 21 and have been living on my own. I’m not a dependent. All of utilities are in my name. I’m just asking because I’m not understanding why my younger friends are getting more money back, making less money a year and still living with their parents.

You make more income.  More income = more tax = less refund.  They have less income so less  tax liability but more withholding taken out.  If they make less than 12,400 they get back all their withholding.

If you filed your 2020 return with the Recovery Rebate Credit for the $600 you didn't receive, you can track your refund by going to this IRS tool: Where's My Refund  The stinulus will be include in your refund and you will not be able to track it separately.
