Will my refund still be approve if I forgot one my w2 and one of my husband's w2?

ok so used turbo tax

Filed 1/28

Accepted 1/29

Received letter regarding health insurance marketplace

faxed 2/19 (kansas city)

no updates, transcripts say NA

IRS customer service no help

called to request an advocate because I have SEVERAL qualifying hardships. Still waiting on intake to call me back with an advocate, however the woman who answered my call mentioned she sees my returns and says I'm missing a w2 I did go back through my paperwork and yes I am missing one. Health care form adds about $220 to my refund, however the missing w2 reduced me about $230.....so here is my question will IRS release my deposit or will they reject it and I must admend????? As I stated previously, I have hardships so I don't want to jump the gun and amend if there is a chance I can get my refund and then send them a check for the amount owed????

Your tax advocate is the best aid at this point.  They may be able to work with a phone call to get some items cleaned up.  The second option is to wait for the IRS to process what has been filed already.  They will send you a letter with further instructions as necessary.

How long did it take for you to receive tax return even when you forgot a w2?

The timeframe is still up to 21 days from the date of acceptance. It also depends on if your tax return is accepted, then you will need to amend your return.

And if it's rejected, then the corrections can be made and resubmitted.

Here's an article that will give you instructions on how to amend your return.

@Delunk You can still receive your refund with the missing information however you will want to report it via an amended tax return as mentioned in the response prior. So either you amend after being accepted or include the missing W-2 if you are rejected.
