I have a six digit pin, but the form only allows five digits to be entered. What the heck is happening I keep getting rejected.

To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button
ime and my wife have the 6 # pin but the turbo tax only accepts 5 digits and the return gets rejected each time due to inproper PIN #

There are two different pins that you will need to enter in your return. One is the 5-digit PIN is a that is entered in the File section of the program. This PIN is used every year to e-file your return, and you use the same number every year.
The IP PIN is a number that the IRS typically issues an IP PIN in known cases of identity fraud. If your return was rejected because you need to enter your IP PIN you can, get your IP PIN online at the IRS's Get an IP PIN site, or call the IRS at 1-800-908-4490 to have your IP PIN mailed to you (this can take up to 21 days).
