Why would my percentage of taxable income be so much higher this year than last?

We are on a fixed income that did not increase much from last year, but our taxable amount is much higher. Why would that be?

I wonder if the RMD questions created an extra tax liability where the program thinks you didn't take enough. Check through your retirement worksheets and look for things that seems wrong.

To print or view  your forms, be sure to select all worksheets as well:

• In desktop, switch to Forms Mode.

  1. On the left side, select  Tax Tools
  2. Select Print center
  3. Select Print, save or preview this year's return
  4. If you have not paid, select pay now.

Thank you. It is not RMD. But I did figure it out. It was because we were taxed at a higher rate this year on our Social Security.
