It is likely that his information remains in the Dependent section of the "My Info" area of your return's data entry. Return to My Info and delete him there, and it shouldn't prompt you for this again.

You probably transferred a 2023 return that claimed your son and the software is just asking about information that came over with your other data. If he cannot be claimed then delete him from MY INFO.
