Why is it asking how I want to pay for my state taxes? I thought what I owed was automatically deducted from return and sent to state.

State taxes owed can Never be deducted from a federal tax refund.

Good news ... you can file the state return now  and pay the balance due by 4/17/18 ... simply choose the option to mail in a check and a voucher will print to send with the payment.
