Why can’t I file for free?

One reason you can't file for free is because you may not qualify. TurboTax Free Edition is an online-only product that supports simple tax returns that can be filed on Form 1040 without any attached schedules.

why are you covering for them? OF COURSE SHE QUALIFIES. It's not letting her file for free because she's in the Free Edition instead of the Free File edition found at a completely different website! www.freefile.intuit.com
