I was on hold to be transferred for an hour and soon as 7 hit the automated system tells me there closed so pissed I’m already pissed because I really need my money I’m a high pregnant woman who can’t work if I tried I see three different doctors three times a week I have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes plus high blood pressure and a few others to name my bills are steady pilling up and I needed my money to pay my bills up so I can be at peace the irs has stressed me the hell out this year saying about errors resolution department but no one can tell me why so I’m gone call everyday till somebody tell me the **bleep** is going on
You can try to contact a tax advocate person to help you .
Also you can call all day long and wont get anywhere with the irs i have called them for a year and still nothing i contacted a tax advocate and since you said you have bills piling that should be considered a hardship it might make it faster for them to process what i dont understand is we have to have our taxes filed by april 15th or we have to pay a penalty or late fee for filing late but the irs doesnt have to process your stuff by that time
As mentioned earlier in this thread, if you’re having tax problems because of financial difficulties or immediate threat of adverse action and you haven’t been able to resolve them with the IRS the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) may be able to help you. Click this link for more information: Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS)
You also may wish to contact your local IRS office. Please go to the IRS website page for information on contacting a local office: Contact Your Local IRS Office

My return has been stuck for a year so maybe you should try and get a tax advocate they might be able to help get it moving faster if your lucky ihave been told that the urs is behind on the 2019 tax refunds which is odd if they are processing 2020 tax returns
You should contact the IRS on the status of your return. To contact the IRS, please review the steps and information below:

I ended up filling 2020 returns, and getting everything on that. Now waiting for that to go thru. IDK if they will ever get to my 2019. I haven't heard back from them, or received anything in the mail. If you go the advocate route you have to say you are in economic need otherwise they can't help you much.
Call irs tax avacate

Thanks Irene....the old hit the zero key a billion times til the system sends you to a real live person went with the stinkin IRS so I appreciate you finding a quick lil “bsckdoor” 👽
I feel like turbo tax free file is the problem..I have never used free file and no problem but this year I have had problems from the start. I guess you get what you pay for maybe idk
@Amandahus This year has been extraordinary for everyone. The IRS is seriously backlogged due to all the new tax laws and extra stimulus filings, as well as unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown. Unfortunately, contacting the IRS will not speed things up. Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient. Also see:
Not necessarily true i paid for turbo tax to do my 2019 tax return and i just got it after i went and got a tax advocate to help be i did my 2020 tax return free why pay when turbo tax cant give yiu any answers after you file and its accepted they say its up to the irs just keep calling but if you call the irs hit the #2 then 1 and 3 and then i think 2 and 2 again it will eventually take you to a live person
