I'm a "regular" employee with a W2, and my wife has a small business and is filing self employed. If we want to file jointly which TurboTax product will allow us to do both?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Using the TurboTax online editions you would need the Self-Employed edition.
Using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions then any of the desktop editions can be used.
You need online Self-Employed OR any version of the CD/download. Your self-employed spouse has to prepare a Schedule C for business expenses, which can only be done using online Self-Employed or by using the CD/download --- if you use the CD/download every version has all the forms and schedules needed.
For preparing your return online, you need TurboTax Self-Employed.
You can use any desktop (installed on a computer) version of TurboTax.
Please see the information in this TurboTax FAQ for assistance in selecting the best product for your tax situation.
Thank you! If we do the online/Self Employed option does it allow for joint filing where one spouse isn't self employed?
