Where to locate federal ID number when filing 1099-SA from

The federal identification number should be located on the left side under the heading of "PAYER'S federal identification number".

If it is blank, then call the HSA plan administrator (the "Payer") and ask them what it is. They should have reported it on the form.

I found mine under heading PAYER'S TIN.

Why does Turbotax prevent me from saving my records to my desktop ?????

I am using a CD copy I brought from Sam's Club

You can save your TurboTax file any place you choose on your computer using the FILE > SAVE AS option.  This link has info on Saving TurboTax on your Computer.

Otherwise, the default location is DOCUMENTS > TURBOTAX.
