Where is the turbo tax menu?

Need to force updates to the software

If you are working in TurboTax Online, the menu appears on the left side of the screen. If you don't see it, expand your browser window to full screen, or select the hamburger icon in the upper left corner. 

In TurboTax Desktop software, the menu is in the horizontal black stripe across the top of the window.

This was the correct answer. I am a long time turbo tax user.  However, I switched from PC to Mac a few months ago. Some of the Mac-PC differences still throw me. Thanks for the solution.

There is no TurboTax menu at the top. I cannot find anywhere in the TT 2024 to get the most recent updates. I am trying to file my taxes and it keeps saying I need the updates. WHERE! I tried the patch that one recommend and nothing.

Why do you all make something so easy so difficult? Reading post from past years this happens so why don't you make it clearly accessible knowing this will happen? Other programs, every time you open them they update but yours, on important timelines, don't have that? You promise to be a program that is simple to use but, knowing full well this is going to happen you don't have the answer.

@tskogen   I assume you are using the Desktop program you installed with the 16 digit License Code?   Are you on Windows or Mac?  

Troubleshooting update issues on Windows.  Have you tried the manual update?  Updates usually come out on Thursdays.

You might also need to update Windows.  There might be a Windows update waiting to install.

I'm one of those who need computers for dummies. I have a Mac, where are the updates?

I found a link for Mac.  You need to install the updates.  Quit Turbo Tax and reopen it a couple times for the updates to get installed on Mac.  Go up to the Apple bar at the very top and File-Quit

It is not necessary to close TurboTax.   Just use the top Mac menu bar: TurboTax -> Check for Updates.

I just found that as well - The Apple Bar! I looked every but the right place.
