Where is the jump to link?

Hey, thank you for the reply but I am using the download.  I suppose that's why I can't find the jump to or the tools.  I ended up looking it up in forms.

I realize it's moot now, but the desktop software (CD/download) also has "jump to" links in its Search box.  However, it happens that the jump for Schedule SE uses instead Sch SE as the search term.  So it was not intuitive.   See this image from the desktop product:

Thanks for the info anyway!  I did try it but still no "jump to" link.  My page looks different from yours.  I have the home & business edition and I don't know why that would make a difference.

I just confirmed it works in 2019 Home and Business (for Windows).  I don't have a copy of the 2020 Home and Business to test.  My image above was from 2020 Deluxe (for Windows).

If you're using the Mac version, I don't have that, so I can't comment on whether it works in the Mac product.

In any case, since you were able to solve your issue in Forms Mode, there's no need to belabor it.  I'm glad you were able to get to the form you needed.

I need to get to the Jump to link for sale of inherited Land 1099S

There is not a "jump to" shortcut specifically for the simple term 1099-S, but there is another jump to get to the correct interview for it.  One can do the jump using the term land sale without quotes, and that will take you to the investment sales section where such 1099-S transactions are reported.   You didn't say if you are using Online TurboTax or desktop TurboTax, but the principle is the same.  See my image below from Online TurboTax:

The "jump to" method can be quirky at times.    For future reference, sometimes it's faster to use the Topic Search function.   Here's how:

  • With your return open, go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS.
  • In the Tools window choose the blue button Topic Search.
  • Enter a term in the search line, highlight the result in the selection list and click GO.
  • Or you can scroll through the list there to find the topic you need.

Where is the jump to link?

I'm having exactly this problem.

I'm trying to find where to enter my 2019 refund amount that applied to 2020 estimated taxes last year.

I did not do my taxes with Turbotax last year so i need to enter this amount manually

The help text tells me to search for "refund applied to this year" and select the "Jump to" link... I don't see any Jump to link! I'm on a Mac if that makes any difference.

Never mind my previous query.

Expert AmyC answered my question in a subsequent post.

Short answer: look in the "Search Topics" accessed from the top of the main TurboTax screen.

Jump to is not showing up.

Quite labor intensive trying to navigate the program without those, like looking for a needle in the haystack!

I cannot locate where to enter sold rental property in the TT "Business" desktop software program.

1) Dad deceased 2/2020, when Trust became effective.  Previously Dad filed returns w/rental as an individual.

2) His rental property last month renting was 3/2020; rental information is entered for February & March.

3) Property sold 5/2020.

4) The "Trust" information is entered in the TT Business program.

5) I am unable to identify where on Schedule E to enter the actual sale and expenses of the sold rental property.

Can you help without telling me to Jump to...

Thanks!

So it sounds like you are working on a trust return and asking how to find something in the Business Edition.  Sorry, but I don't have the Business Edition.   I only have the personal tax products.   And I'm not a tax professional and can't help you with a trust return and sale of trust rental property.

Someone else in the forum might have the Business Edition, but may or may not see your question in this cluttered non-specific thread, but they might see it in a new thread dedicated to that specific issue.

If you want to start your own new thread, go to the page below and click the blue button "Ask a question."  Make it clear in the question title that you are asking about Business Edition for a Trust and sale of a rental property.    The question line is limited, but below the question line is a box where you can explain any details.   This is a public Internet forum, so don't post any personal info.

@TaxedUser1   See the info I left you above.    As I mentioned there, you can start a new thread dedicated to your Business Edition issue if you wish, and I also just now added contact info above if you prefer to phone Customer Support.   If you were emailed the original answer, it didn't have that contact info.

I would like to use "Jump to" to find your interview on Estimated Taxes, as well as copies of 1040-ES I want to fill out.  Where is Jump to?

Where is the jump to link?

Use "W-4" as the search term in the Search Box of TurboTax. That will take you to the W-4 and Estimated Taxes interview under "Other Tax Situations"

See the following screenshots for aid in navigating to the interview. If you do not want to change withholdings, select "No" when you come to the second screen (Do you want to change your W-4 withholdings for 2021?)

Where is the jump to link?

Are you using the Online version?  I made al screen shot.  Click on the Search icon and type w4 in the search box.  Click ENTER or the Return key.  The Jump to link should show up.  It will take you to the W4 entry section.  Say NO to W4 and it will go to Estimates
