Where do I enter what I paid on 1040 ES this year?

I know where it goes on the 1040, but it won't let me get there. Under other tax situations I marked that I had paid in estimated tax but no where to enter amount paid.

Your estimated tax payments that you made are entered under Deductions and Credits.  The Other Tax Situations is to calculated estimated tax payments for you to make in the future.

To enter your Estimated Tax Payments made in 2021 click the following:

  • Federal
  • Deductions and Credits
  • Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and Click Show More
  • Estimated Tax Payments
  • Click yes, when asked if you made estimated payments
  • Then select the types of tax payments made
  • then Enter your payments and date of payments

If you made estimated tax payments in 2021 towards your federal, state, or local taxes, enter them in the Estimated and Other Income Taxes Paid section.

Entering Estimated Tax Payments:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Search for estimated tax payments.
  3. Click on Jump to estimated tax payments.
  4. Click on Start next to the type of estimated tax payment you'd like to enter

  5. Enter amount(s) of payments you made.
