@jp4343 I saw it say "available" briefly as well. However, when I go into the site and go to review my return, it still tells me I can't e-file.
Form 7202 is available but e-file is not supported.
Had a long conversation with a TT rep today and got nowhere. Supposedly, and I say this hesitantly, the 7202 e-file will be available early to mid-March. I've already paid for my return through quickbooks self employed so I'm kind of stuck, but I certainly DO NOT want to mail in my tax return for multiple reasons..... For any Intuit/Turbo Tax executives and others at Corporate that might be trolling this threat - you will lose a loyal customer who pays for all the bells and whistles each and every year (in addition to QB self employed) if you don't pay someone a menial amount to change your computer coding to make this a reality. Much like Reddit folks did with GameStop, I will crowdsource everyone on this forum and the greater internet to crush INTU stock. When enough folks are fed up, I'll smile while making money on short selling your stock.
It's TRUE that form 7202 cannot be efiled per IRS... but irs posted this today (see below) about how you can efile and still claim these credits. Let's see if turbotax gets on board. They totally can attach 7202 as pdf for us... that's how they collect payment from a refund. Regardless turbotax cannot keep saying "your return cannot be efiled per IRS rules bc of form 7202 but don't worry we can help you paper file!"...bc as of today- per this IRS page- it's a total lie.
Agreed. When H&R Block, Taxslayer and Jackson Hewitt have found a way to alter their coding to attach a .pdf and/or include the information the IRS requires it's possible to do....TurboTax is just either too lazy or too cheap to accommodate their customers.
You and me both I have used them for years but I bet they are losing more and more people and I've waited for them to fix it but our family cant wait any longer.
March 11 e-fileable.
@Megaman How do you know March 11? Did a TT rep tell you this?
Yes, about 40 minutes ago I was given that exact date.
Yes

TurboTax does not support any attachments - PDF or otherwise and never has.
However, that might change in the near future because the new 8915-E for can only be a PDF or attachment and TurboTax says they will support that by Feb 25. Wait and see.
I am a Turbo Tax Business and Turbo Tax Home & Business user and the business version allows attaching PDF files, the TT H&B does not. In fact you have to print out, sign, then scan and then attach the 8453-PE form when filing for a business while using TT B. So TT already has the coding/means to let the other versions to do so, they chose not to.
But why tho? If we all like TurboTax so much, we can always comeback next year. I never used anything but TurboTax and It wasn’t hard for me to use H&R, it’s pretty straight foward. Just download your tax form from turbo tax and fill accordingly. Why delay your return by a month or more? (This is assuming what the employee said is accurate, how upset will you be if get further delayed)
I already paid the TurboTax self employed filing fee. So now, if I don't want to wait for an unspecified amount of time, I have to pay another filing fee. It's ridiculous. I wish there was a way to request a refund.
Saw this on another thread.....
Yes, there has been an update announced today. The IRS only recently has permitted e-filing Form 7202 and the program is being updated as quickly as possible.
Form 7202 would have been generated in response to questions about your employment, particularly if there was qualified sick or family leave. You will need to check the entries for any income being reported in your tax return.
Until the program is updated, if you wish to proceed, you would have to paper file. The IRS takes at least 6-8 weeks to process a paper filed return and 2-3 weeks to process an electronically filed return.
To e-file, wait until the program has been updated, which is scheduled for March 11, 2021, as of this writing.
