For the Federal, check you 1040 form. Amount you owe is reported on line 37. If you are receiving a refund it will show on line 35a.
The amount you owe or your refund will continue to change until you enter all your forms and information and complete the final review.
To preview your 1040 before filing:
On the menu bar on the left:
REFUND = money you get back from the IRS or state. You can receive your refund as a check mailed to you or by having a direct deposit to your bank account
TAX DUE = money you OWE and must pay by April 15, 2024
If you are getting a federal refund it will be on line 35a of your Form 1040.
If you owe money to the IRS it will be on line 37 of your Form 1040
It cannot be both.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
Your state tax return form will also show a refund or an amount you owe. We cannot tell you what line to look at since we do not know what state you are in.
If you owe tax due, you have to pay it yourself by the filing deadline on April 15, 2024.
If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.
