When I put in my control number (box d), I get an error saying that it can only be 14 characters long (mine is 15). What do I do?

Box D,  the control number is not required to file your return, you can just leave it blank.  If you are trying to import your W2 and Box D is not accepted and is required for import, you will have to manually enter your W2 instead.
