When does IRS actually start accepting EFiles?

The IRS starts accepting tax returns starting on and after 01/23/2023.

Actually the IRS has been accepting some returns in testing batches since last Wed  however the first official day to  start processing returns is today 1/23.   BUT there is a pile of them waiting in the queue to be accepted and processed and it always takes a few days to clear the pile up ... sort of like draining a lake with a garden hose.
