When can I file for my 2020 tax return

You can start your 2019 return on TurboTax, finish, and submit for filing now, however the IRS will not start processing returns until January 27, 2020.

When I try to submit I get a message saying turbo tax is not accepting personal taxes until February 3rd? I'm confused. Is there a reason why?

My tax return was accepted on the 28th. It has been 5 days. I remember my refund being approved in 3 days last year? Is this normal?

@rcystrom1976 Yes it can take longer than 5 days for your tax return to go from accepted to approved.  The IRS will provide a personalized refund date once your status moves to “Refund Approved", they will even provide a "Refund Sent" date once that status is reached.
