What should I do? I have already received my refund. We claimed our son, who just tried to his taxes, but they refused to do them because I claimed him as a dependent.

Did he say on his own return that he cannot be claimed? That would make his be rejected. The question is---can you claim him?
How old was he at the end of 2019? Was he a full-time student? Did he have over $4200 of income in 2019?

If you had the right to claim him, then on his return he needs to check the box that someone else can claim him on their tax return. Personal Info, click Edit by his name, go to the screens until you get to the screen that asks if anyone can claim him.

If he qualifies as your dependent he has to mark that on his return. He needs to Go to My Info click EDIT by his name
Then scroll down to #3 Can someone else claim you?
If he doesn't qualify as your dependent he will have to mail his return and you will have to amend your return to take him off.

@pimpkicks23 after you start the amendment, to remove a dependent, click on Personal Info, by the dependent's name, click delete.

Thank you very much. How do I remove him as a dependent when I amend my return?
