This error is because the taxpayer's Social Security Number (SSN) has been listed as the spouse's SSN on another tax return filed as Married Filing Separately. 

Verify that the taxpayer's SSN is entered correctly. If the SSN is accurate and it has been listed as the spouse SSN on another tax return for the current tax year, the filing status on this return cannot be Single, Married Filing Jointly, or Qualifying Widower. 

If you feel that this reject is an error and you don't want to change the taxpayer's filing status, you can print and file by mail.
