What if my TIN number only shows the last 4 numbers?

Are you seeing only four digits of a TIN on a W-2, a 1099 or some document reporting income to you? Depending upon the document involved, there may be a remedy. Please clarify.

The issuer of the tax reporting form has the option to only show the last 4 numbers of your SS# putting ***-** for the other 5 which is legal & common place and has nothing to do with completing your return in the program.
