2022 has not been published yet but if the pattern holds you will need 10.16 or later ...
But check this recent post from another user...indicates they were informed it would be MAC Big Sur 11 or higher (but I can't confirm myself....or Windows 10)):
TurboTax 2023 Desktop requires Windows 10 or higher (intuit.com)
Good luck! Downloaded 2022 from Amazon onto my Mac running Ventura. Put the application into my Applications folder and received this message.
TurboTax can't be updated when it's running from a read-only volume like a disk image or an optical drive. Move TurboTax to your Applications folder and relaunch it from there.
Restarted the computer, downloaded it again. Same message. No idea what to do and of course the TurboTax web site is worthless.
To bobtidmore: Does the file you downloaded from Amazon have a .dmg suffix? I received my TT Home & Business software through Intuit's Tax Advantage a week or so ago. It had a .dmg suffix, so I double-clicked on it from the Downloads folder and that's how it was inserted into my Applications folder. It is working just fine in Mac Monterey.
Bob, I saw your post while searching to see if the 2022 TT products are compatible with Mac Ventura. I've delayed upgrading from Monterey 12.6.1 until I get that answer, so please post if you are able to use your software on Ventura after you've installed it.
I recall there was a problem last year with TT software purchased from Amazon instead of Intuit that was corrected later in the year. Hopefully, your problem this year is just due to the method of installation. Please reply and good luck!
For tax year 2022, desktop TurboTax (CD/download) requires MacOS BigSur 11 or higher to install. (Catalina 10.15 is not supported.)
For more 2022 system requirements, see the announcement at the link below.
NOTE: The first half of the page is for the Windows version, so scroll down to the Mac requirements.

The download has a .dmg ending and when I drag it to the applications folder it's identified as an 2 KB Alias. Wonder if that has something to do with the problem. The actual installer is on the desktop even though I drug the file from the download folder to the Applications folder.
??
Any ideas ?
