What address should I put on my W-4 while temporarily living in another state?

My home state is Utah, where I intend to return after my 4-month apartment lease is up in Oregon. I just got two jobs that require me to fill out W-4s. Should I put my Utah address (parent's) or my Oregon lease address?

Are the jobs you will be starting in Utah or are they in Oregon?    It is not clear from what you posted here what you will be doing during that four month interim before the lease expires.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I got hired at two restaurants in Oregon, where I am not a resident. I will be here for less than 200 days. Just not sure which address to put on my W-4s.

Your Oregon employer will withhold OR income tax, so use your Oregon address.   If you are a student, and your parents claim you as a dependent, Your "official" state of residence is the state your parents live in.   At tax time, you might need to file a non-resident OR return and a resident tax return for the state your parents live in.  If and when you move back to your "home" state, if you get a job in that state, then of course you would use your home state address on any W-4 for a job in your home state.

I think that could be a tough call.

The main issue I see is that they will send your W-2 to whatever address is on your W-4.  BUT, for work in 2025,  they don't send that out until Jan-Feb of 2026, even if you stop working there in 4 mos from now.

Opinion: Generally,  especially if you are a college student, I'd stick with your parent's address  (unless they are sending your your paycheck in the mail)

Certainly, if the restaurant payroll provider utilizes an "online" access point to get  a PDF of your final W-2, without sending a physical W-2 in the mail, then your W-4 address could be either...BUT...their directions on how to access that W-2 "online" would probably come in the mail.

Yeah...maybe talk to the Restaurant employer(s) about how they issue paychecks (mail?/Direct Deposit?) and the eventual W-2  (mail vs online).   Maybe you can use the OR address...but then change your address to your parent's just when you leave employment. But it is critical that you have to remember to actually do that.  Trying to change it next January may be too late.
