We received unemployment from the state. State website says, "No, your unemployment benefit payments will not be included in the 1099-G amount provided." what do I file?

I just want to know how and where to input the information if the state is not putting unemployment on the 1099-G. https://dor.mo.gov/faq/personal/1099g.php

What state?  You must have misunderstood.  The state is Required to provide you with a Form 1099-G reporting the 2020 unemployment compensation you received.  Either by mailing you the form or allowing you to access the form on the state website.

What state?  Maybe the state does not have 2020 1099G's ready yet.

UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION

Unemployment compensation is taxable on your federal return.

You will have to enter a 1099G that is issued by your state.

Some states will mail out the 1099G.  Or you might need to go to your state’s unemployment website and use the password, etc. that you have been using to certify for weekly benefits to get your 1099G from the state’s site.

Enter your 1099G in Federal>Wages & Income>Unemployment

Go through the screens very carefully, making sure to enter any federal/state tax you had withheld from the unemployment.

Missouri. I have the link to the website in the notes on my post.... where is states "No, your unemployment benefit payments will not be included in the 1099-G amount provided."

It also states on Missouri's 1099-G inquiry page: "The Department of Revenue's 1099-G only applies to individuals who itemize their deductions on their federal income tax return. If you claimed the standard deduction on your federal return and did not itemize, you will not have a 1099-G"

I think I answered my own question. Thanks!

"Those who have received unemployment insurance benefits on more than one program will receive only one Form 1099-G from the DES that includes the total gross compensation. Programs include regular state benefits, Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation, Extended Benefits, Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, Lost Wages Assistance, Shared Work, Trade Adjustment Assistance, Re-employment Trade Adjustment Assistance, & Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance. That statement appears to be for a state income tax refund where if you used the standard deduction for the prior tax year on the federal tax return, the state tax refund is not entered as taxable income on the federal tax return.

This does not apply to unemployment compensation since unemployment is taxable on a federal tax return.
